Congratulations to our Grade 7 MCIU STEM Design Challenge Winners

Seventh grade students participated in the MCIU STEM Design Challenge Competition sponsored by ThermoFisher Scientific at the Corbett Center in Norristown. Murray Avenue had two teams present their designs for conserving energy in the future. They were tasked with building their design using K'Nex at the competition, keeping a journal of their progress leading up to the competition, drawing blueprints of their designs, and presenting their design and answering questions for the judges. This was our first year participating in this competition, and we are excited to report that one of our teams WON! They won 1st place in the middle school (6-8) division in the county, and they are headed to Harrisburg in May for the state competition! Congratulations to our winning team of Liya Ma, Zachary Hwan, Tamara Kohmann, Gabrielle Truong, and Brinda Dass.

Congratulations to MA Students participating in Language Oral Proficiency Contest

Eleven Murray Avenue and Lower Moreland High School students represented Lower Moreland School District at the Montgomery County Oral Proficiency Contest. Students attending from Murray Avenue were Miriam Linetsky, Rebecca Kideckel, Kai Harder, Sophia Kohmann, and Samantha Horsnall. From Murray Ave, Kai Harder won the gold medal for German 1. Samantha Horsnall won the silver medal for German 2, and Sophia Kohmann won the silver medal for Spanish 2. All of the students really enjoyed themselves and did a phenomenal job of representing our World Language Department. Congratulations!

Breakfast and Lunch menus are posted on a new interactive website, Nutrislice. Our innovative and interactive site and mobile app makes our school menus more convenient and informative than ever before! Download the Nutrislice App from the App Store or get it on Google Play and then search Lower Moreland.

Food sold during the school day is required to meet nutrition standards that are referred to as Smart Snacks. Smart Snacks encourage students to make healthier snack choices to help give them the nutrition they need to grow and learn. Check out the 2019-2020 price list for the list of snacks served in the cafeteria.

The cafeteria had a special treat, homemade festive donuts, for the students at Murray Ave for Valentine's Day. The students loved the donuts and cannot wait until we make them again!

LMTSD Bullying Prevention Information

We wanted to provide some information to families following our LMTSD Parent/Guardian Bullying Prevention Information survey. Below are some answers to some Frequently Asked Questions and information related to district procedures.

Are you aware of the anonymous reporting system being used in Pennsylvania, Safe2Say Something?

Safe2Say Something is a statewide anonymous, 24-7, reporting process for a variety of safety concerns. Click HERE for more information on this initiative.

Are you aware of the Lower Moreland Township School District Harassment/Bullying Reporting Form?

This form is used to gather information about incidents related to bullying. Students, parents, teachers, and administrators can all use this form. This form can be found on each school’s website. Click HERE to view the form.

As a parent, I have a clear understanding of the school's policies, practices, and procedures related to issues of harassment and bullying.

All reported incidents related to bullying are investigated, regardless of how they are reported. The District Code of Conduct is the structure used to apply consequences. Cases are referred to the police if the nature of the incident requires it.

We continue to partner with students, staff, and families to provide a safe environment for all students.
