Don Tate is coming next week!
We are thrilled that Don Tate will be visiting our school on Thursday, April 19, 2018. In preparation for his visit, we have been and will be reading a few of his books: Whoosh!
Lonnie Johnson's Super-Soaking Stream of Inventions, The Remarkable Story of George Moses Horton: Poet, and It Jes’ Happened: When Bill Traylor Started to Draw.
Don Tate has authored and/or illustrated more than a dozen books for children, including the highly-acclaimed Whoosh! Lonnie Johnson's Super-Soaking Stream of Inventions. Mr. Tate is also a founding host of the The Brown Bookshelf –a blog dedicated to books for African American young readers, and a member of the #WeNeedDiverseBooks organization, created to address the lack of diverse, non-majority narratives in children’s literature. Please visit his website for information about Mr. Tate and his books: https://dontate.com/
Although our book sale is over, you may still have time to order one or some of his books from Amazon to have them signed on the day of his visit.
