Principal's Message
Thank you to everyone who has attended parent teacher conferences in these last two weeks. We appreciate your support, interest in your child's progress and overall education. Research has shown over and over, that parent involvement is one of the single most important indicators of a child's success.
I have the honor of recognizing the organization we call "Boone PTA". In the last two days, the Texas PTA has bestowed 3 major awards to the Boone PTA.
1) 2015 Presidents List Award- Boone's PTA has achieved state Active Status with the state and recruited more members than they had in all of last year. They were recognized as one of the best in the state.
2) Fall Membership Increase Award- This award honors the efforts put forth to recruit more than 100% of last year's total membership before November 2015.
3) 100+ CLUB-Fall Honor Roll- This award recognizes increasing membership over last year hitting significant milestones of members by October 2015.
This commitment by our PTA and all of you who are members show the tremendous parent support we see regularly in so many ways. Congratulations to Serenity Lange, PTA President, and Holt Haley-Walker, Membership Chair, along with the entire PTA board for their tireless efforts to make Boone such a special place.
One final note, Mr. Gordon, the PE teacher, resigned his position last week. We will be looking for the best candidate to fill that critical role next year. Be assured PE and health instruction will in alignment with the AISD curriculum.
2015-2016 AISD Parent Survey
On January 21, 2106 parents received the AISD Parent Survey in their student’s Thursday Folder. We encourage parents and families to offer feedback on the 2015-2016 school year by completing the AISD Parent Survey. Your opinions are important and will be taken into consideration as we strive to serve our students better. You may also complete the survey online at www.austinisd.org. Thank you for taking the time to help us understand our strengths and opportunities for improvement. All surveys must be completed by Monday, February 29th.
