Husky Happenings Family Edition
Week of April 11th
Husky Families-
This past week, we began looking over our STAAR Interim data. Students who did not meet the passing mark, will be required to attend HB4545 tutoring this summer. If a student assigned HB 4545 Summer tutoring does meet the passing mark on the official test given in May, they will no longer be required to attend. Administration will start contacting parents this week to set up meeting to review your their scores and discuss tutoring. I am continuing to ask the staff to look at their students' grades weekly and assign mandatory tutoring to students who are not being academically successful. We are hoping this will help our students stay up with their grades and continued to grow academically. On Monday, March 28th, we rolled out a NO Phones Policy. This policy requires all Huskies to put their personal phones in their backpacks from 8:55 am to 4:10 pm. Our huskies have been doing a great job at keeping them put away and the staff has been seeing a lot more engagement in the classroom. Tuesday morning, I will run a report to see if the students have earned the phones back for the last 15 minutes of lunch. Stay tuned!! Please remember, you are always welcome to call the office and we can relay this information to your student. As always, please reach out if you have any questions or need help. Have a great long weekend!!

Three Weeks Progress Reports
Progress Reports will go out later this week. Please take a moment to check your student's grade in SKYWARD at the link below.
Spring STAAR Interim
Over the last two weeks, we conducted the STAAR Interim for grades 6-8 Math and Reading as well as grade 8 Social Studies and Science. Please remember, the STAAR Interim is the predictive measure the school will use to determine if students will be set up for HB 4545 tutoring hours in the summer. We will make a plan for them to attend tutoring on our campus for 30 hours for each STAAR subject test in which they do not meet the passing rate. (8th graders could potentially have 120 hours, 7th & 6th grade could have 60 hours). If students pass the STAAR in May (we will get scores in June), they will NOT have to attend the tutoring hours.
STAAR testing days
These are the STAAR testing days set by the state. We will have a closed campus on these days, which means there will be no visitors allowed. Please do not make any student appointments on these days.

Huffines PTA Needs YOUR help!
Hey Parents & Community!
The PTA board has several open positions for the 2022-2023 school year and needs volunteers. This is a great way to get involved and make an impact at our amazing school! Open Positions:
-Treasurer
-Communications Chair
-Parliamentarian
-Council Delegate
Thank you in advance and we hope you'll consider being part of the Husky PTA family!
Sincerely,
Stephanie Knibbs
PTA President
AIRPODS
Please make sure your student has their airpods labeled with their first and last name and that they are keeping them in their possession. We have had several pair come up missing due to students not having them labeled and or leaving them unattended.
HFMS Campus TAPR Report, Federal Report Card and School Report Card Now Available
The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and low income status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics.
The TAPRs were previously known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Reports.
The most current report is now available on our website. If you would like a paper copy, we have them in the front office.
