Week 9
Week 9 Notes
During this week's staff meeting, all of our teachers spent a minute filling out a "thank you" or "I'm proud of you" card for students. Teachers then dropped the cards off in the student's lockers after the meeting was over. It was one of the ways we recognize all of the good that's going on in our school, and it took us less than 5 minutes. While nobody is perfect, our students have shown they are hardworking, caring, and can be great examples for each other. This week, I encourage you to join us in saying "thank you" or "I'm proud of you". We're lucky we have great kids and it's important they know it!
Question of the Week
Sticking with the themes of pride and appreciation, this week's question to ask your child is "Who are you thankful for at school?" or "Is there a friend you are particularly proud of? Why?" Hopefully, you will find that your son or daughter has some close connections to the adults and students at school. It's also important to listen to what makes your child prideful about his or her peers.
Thank You

Milwaukee Rescue Mission Food Drive for the Holidays!
The members of Kindness Club and Raider Reps are running a food drive for families in need of dinner items during the month of November. We will be collecting items by grade level, according to the list below.
All donation items should be delivered to Hour 1 teachers and placed in the food drive boxes located outside of the classroom doors. Students from Raider Reps and Kindness Club will count collected items on November 14th prior to personally delivering these items to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission on November 15th during Raider Day!
The goal is for each student to bring in at least 1 item, but the more you can supply, the better!
The winning first hour class will be awarded an Ice Cream Party too!
Please spread kindness and bring in one of the items on the list below to your first hour teacher by November 13th!
Thank you for helping spread kindness and joy!

Collection for the Joy House
Kindness Club Members Are Working to Make a Difference in the Community!
The students belonging to Kindness Club are dedicating the month of October to provide hope and support to those in need in our community. They have created posters, decorated
donation boxes, and have brought in items of their own to donate.
We are asking you to consider making a donation to the Joy House in Milwaukee. They are desperately in need of winter clothing items, specifically for women and children. The items can be new or gently used! Donation boxes are located outside of the main office and outside of Mrs. Restivo’s door. We are collecting items throughout the month of October. Please consider donating to this wonderful organization so everyone in Wisconsin can stay warm this winter!
Items being collected:
*Winter hats, gloves, and scarves
*Winter coats, snow pants, and boots
Thank you,
