Book Review

I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to read an inspiring biography. I speak so highly of this book because it does a great job of showing that regular people can take a stand and make a difference. This incredible story really shows that with hard-work, you can accomplish anything. I also would recommend "I Am Malala" because Malala's story was an interesting way to learn about the Talibans and some of the horrific events that occurred and are still occurring around the world. "I Am Malala" is a great read that I would recommend to anyone.

Malala Yousafzai- Malala Yousfzai is the main character in "I am Malala". She is a teenager who stands-up for her right to go to school when the Taliban are threatening it. Malala makes many speeches talking about her and other females right to go to school. She goes through many challenges on her journey. One of these is that she has a near-death experience when she gets shot in the head by the Talibi. This young girl is very courageous and won't let anything bring her down.

Ziauddin Yousafzai- Ziauddin Yousafzai is Malala's father. Ziauddin, known as Abi to Malala, is a big advocate of Malala's fight. Abi is very close to Malala and helps her with her fight in many ways. Malala takes after her father in the way that both of them are very brave and aren't afraid to voice their opinions. Ziauddin was the owner of a girls school and risked everything by keeping his school open and supporting Malala's fight.

Moniba- Moniba is Malala's best-friend. They are both very intelligent and have competitions with one another to see who scores better on their exams. Malala and Moniba love to hang-out and gossip with one another. They are great friends.

The majority of this story takes place in a small village in Pakistan called Swat. This is Malala's home. Its where her school, friends, family, house, etc. are. This village ends up being invaded by the Taliban. Swat is the where Malala's fight for female education began.

Malala's story is one that is very inspiring and can teach us many things. I believe that the theme of her story is that anyone can make a difference in this world. You don't have to be a celebrity or a certain age. Anyone in the world can do something to make an impact on society. Malala Yousafzai did just this. She wasn't a celebrity, but she was still able to speak up and make a difference in the world.
