School Updates as of Jan 17, 2023
DRESS CODE ISSUES
We have had some issues with students not following dress code while in school. Below is a reminder of what our dress code is. Can you please discuss this with your student to ensure they are following dress code while at school. We are specifically having issues where student don't want to take off their jackets or hoodies or hats. Jackets and hoodies are only allowed to be worn in school if they are solid navy, white or kelly green. Or if you have purchased a school spirit sweatshirt/hoodie they can wear that in the building. Hats or beanies are only allowed outside at recess.
WINTER WEATHER AND RECESS
Please note, we do not open our doors to allow students into the building until 7:50. We recommend not dropping off students earlier then this during the colder months as they will be required to stay outdoors until 7:50.
WINTER WEATHER, LATE START DAYS AND CANCELLATION OF CLASSES
There may be times that we do have to call a "snow day". This means that classes will be cancelled for that day. This is always a last resort as we don't like to cancel classes as they may need to be made up at a later date. Instead of a snow day we do have the option as well to do a virtual day. If this is the option we decide on families will be notified before 6:30 AM and teachers will be reaching out to families with instruction before regular school start time.
As always we want families safe and if you decide to keep students home due to the weather conditions we ask that you excuse your students ASAP for the day.
