What Do Environmental Engineers Do?
Environmental engineers could design the structure and irrigation for rooftop gardens.They could also help reduce building heating and cooling ,design ocean water desalination plant to help irrigate crops without harming marine life ,design a municipal water supply and waste water treatment system for a growing city,and help refineries reduce their toxic gasemissions emissions which contribute to acid rain and global warning.Environmental engineers plan projects around their city or state that are essential to health of the people who live there.
Education of Environmental Engineers
If you want to be a Environmental Engineer , you have to take these subjects in high school: Biology,chemistry,physics,computer science,geometry,algebra,pre calculus,calculus,English;if available,environmental,science,marine biology,and statistics.The minimum degree is a bachelors degree.

Barbara K. Nielsen is a environmental engineer and a geological engineer from SDSM&T.She has 30 years of permitting,characterization and remediation experience on a variety of sites.Nielsen began her career as a regulator in South Dakota were she progressed to manage water protection programs.
