The Black History Month 2024 theme, “African Americans and the Arts,” explores the key influence African Americans have had in the fields of "visual and performing arts, literature, fashion, folklore, language, film, music, architecture, culinary and other forms of cultural expression."

The Office of Professional Development is happy to share the learning opportunities that are currently schedule for 2nd Semester. All of the opportunities are available for registration via Frontline Professional Growth at https://login.frontlineeducation.com/sso/phoenixunion. Please see the attached document for steps on finding and registering for specific activities.
Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities
The Teaching and Learning Division and Office of Professional Development recognize the need for timely professional development centered around our new Synergy Assessment platform, in addition to our quarterly Virtual Professional Learning Saturday. To continue that support, there will be several Synergy Assessment 102 opportunities to deepen learners’ understanding of our new assessment platform. The opportunities listed below are paid, single day events. Participants must be registered in Frontline prior to the deadline in order to receive compensation.

Upcoming Professional Growth Courses
In addition to the professional development opportunities above, there are several Professional Growth courses beginning during 2nd semester as well. As a reminder, Professional Growth courses are no-cost extended learning opportunities aligned to Phoenix Union Professional Practices (PUPPs) and the PXU Teaching and Learning Framework domains (Why, What, How). Each Professional Growth course has required seat time where each 15 hours is equivalent to 1 Professional Growth credit which may be used for advancement on the salary schedule. Only courses which are part of the PXU Professional Learning Program are eligible for PXU PG credit. Professional Growth courses are non-compensated opportunities facilitated by PXU staff and taken outside of the regular contract hours. Attendees must attend all course dates and complete all coursework in order to earn Professional Growth credit.
These courses can also be found and registered in Frontline by filtering to the Certified Professional Growth catalog.
*Registration for Professional Growth courses closes 1-2 days prior to the start date and attendees must be able to commit to all listed sessions and coursework in order to earn credit. Each course is limited to 30 participants.

PXU’s Employee Wellness Program, PXYOU, is pleased to announce the Wellness Reimbursement for 2024. PXYOU will reimburse eligible employees in an active status up to $75. PXU’s Employee Wellness Program is designed to empower employees to take personal control over their own health. This is why we are excited to be able to offer the Wellness Reimbursement in 2024. We know there is more to staying healthy than participating in wellness screenings or getting your annual wellness exam. For eligible purchases made between January 1, 2024 through March 8, 2024, PXYOU will reimburse you up to $75 for qualifying purchases.
- All full and part time employees are eligible. Contract employees, substitute teachers, temporary employees, employees in the ESI program and dependents are not eligible.
- Please see the attached document, Eligible Expenses 2024 for eligible activities, including ineligible activities (see below).
