The Pizitz Post

For Students, Parents & Families - October 25, 2021

Service

It is an honor to be part of a community that prioritizes service to others. Here are few of the ways our students and families have been serving our community these last few weeks:

  • Some of our sixth grade students initiated the idea to collect food and supplies for individuals suffering after the devastation of Hurricane Ida. Multiple student groups promoted the collection and helped to gather the supplies. Thank you for your contributions!
  • Due to Pizitz fundraising efforts, our Ambassadors and SGA representatives had the opportunity to celebrate with a child who received a Magic Moment Grant. Read more about the event here.
  • Our seventh grade science teachers created an opportunity for our community to give back by donating to our blood drive. Seventh graders were able to learn about blood through their life science classes this week. Our blood drive was a huge success- we had over 50 viable donations. If you came to donate- thank you!
  • Around campus, some of our basketball players had a campus clean-up this week, too.

Every act of service is a gift to our community. It really is a greater blessing to give than receive. We love to hear about the generous acts of kindness that our students participate in regularly.

Attention 8th Graders!

Interested in Theatre?

Come join our Jr. Thespian Society! The Pizitz Thespian society is now accepting applications for interested 6th graders! Thespians attend the Alabama Jr. Thespian Festival in the spring, and compete in all areas of theatre- acting, musical theatre, lighting, and set design. This year, interested participants will also have the opportunity to audition for Vestavia Hills High School’s spring musical, Anastasia!

An informational meeting will be held Thursday, October 28th during 8th period in Pirates’ Cove. Attend to learn more and get an application!
