Mrs. Kelley's 1st Grade Class Newsletter
Kids have been working SO HARD to memorize and recite their numbers and skip counting! I am so proud! Thank you for helping them at home. I was able to check a handful of students on Friday and they all performed beautifully! I will continue to listen to my skip counters next week so if your child hasn't had a turn yet then they will very soon!
We celebrate Valentine's Day with our 1st Grade party on Friday from 1:30-2:30. You are welcome to join us for this fun event. Please have your child finish up their Valentine mailbox and bring to school on Monday or sometime this week. Also, please have them make a Valentine for each student in the class. You can email me if you need another copy of the class list.
We have 2 field trips this year. The Dallas Arboretum and LISDOLA (LISD's Outdoor Learning Center). These dates will come home soon. If you do not already have an approved LISD background check, please visit the following link : LISD Background Check. If you have any questions about the background check, please contact the front office for more information. Background checks usually take up to 3 weeks to process, sometimes longer, so please do not wait if you think you might want to chaperone.

100th Day of School!
Kids had fun with our 100th Day of School lessons.
Kids have been practicing with place value and skip counting so the 100th day came at a great time to celebrate their learning.
We talked about how much the students have learned over the last 100 days. They have made SO much progress! I am a very proud teacher.
Our 5th grade buddies came by to help us group and count our 100 objects.
Our little ones love when their Big Kid friends come to visit.
Making friends and learning.
More 100 Fun!
One of our learning goals for science is to explain how we use rocks and soil in our everyday lives.
Kids circle up to brainstorm and learn from each other and share with the group.
