Bust Fear with Thankfulness
It's our last Sunday of Fearbusters, and it couldn't have come at a more perfect time. This week as kids are learning that they can "Bust Fear with Thankfulness" (elementary) because "God Freed Me From All My Fears" (preschool).
As we're all preparing for Thanksgiving, I just want you to know that I'm so thankful for each of you, for how you love kids and give sacrificially of your time to serve, for how you represent Jesus well, and for what we get to be a part of as we see kids falling in love with Jesus and church.
However, this week I've been really convicted that too often I'm thankful for stuff and circumstances, not for Christ alone. As we're about to celebrate a holiday centered around thankfulness, I want to be more thankful for Jesus than anything. To sit down and remember the abundance of His love. I want to remember the Lord, His character and attributes. His goodness and faithfulness and grace and mercy. All He's freed me from, all He gave for us to get to be where we are right now.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!
-Psalm 118:1
