David Kennedy gave a Safe and Drug Free Schools report. He stated that the Suicide Prevention Act will mandate all schools to be trained on Suicide Prevention materials. Several elementary schools will receive updates to their vestibules this summer to improve security measures. District-wide, all adults picking up students from schools will need to show identification starting at the start of next school year. Chris Heren provided an assembly to PHS about drug abuse that was very powerful. He was paid by a grant that PHS won in the fall for pledging to drive safely. New bus cameras will be installed on all school buses this summer and they will include audio. A new bus app is being developed that will allow parents to see within how many minutes the bus is from its stop.
Mrs. Marcus closed the meeting by thanking the entire community for their support and wished every success to the administrators and students for a great close to the school year.
