End of Year 2021-2022


As we start bringing this school year to a close, we just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you to our students, families, and this community for another great school year. Your counselors are here for you always. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything or have any questions about information in this newsletter!


There are a variety of opportunities for students to earn credits this summer, including some especially great summer school options being offered by Forsyth County AT NO COST!

*If you are interested in taking advantage of a summer school opportunity, please contact your student's counselor for more information on registration*

Forsyth County Summer School:

Location: Otwell Middle School (Bus Transportation Provided)

When: Wednesday, June 1st - Thursday, June 30th (Monday - Thursday, except first week)

  • Session 1: Math Academy 8:00 am - 11:30 am
  • Session 2: ELA, Science, or Social 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Student Expectations:

  • Report to session on time each day
  • Complete the course by Thursday, June 30th, 2022
  • You will be required to take an EOC for the following courses: GSE Algebra I, American Literature, Biology, and US History. Students must report for EOC testing.

Reminder: When a student fails and then retakes the same course, both courses and both grades are posted on the student’s transcript. Retaking and passing the course does not replace the failing grade.

Last week was a busy one for our senior class. We got to celebrate at our annual senior picnic and the counselors visited Government/Economics courses to review some end of the year reminders. You can use the links below to review this information:

NFHS will be holding our Senior Awards Ceremony on May 17th at 6:30 PM in the Raider Arena. This ceremony is to recognize our seniors' academic accomplishments and attendance is by invitation only. We are sending invitations out this week so please be checking your mailbox!

If you are receiving a scholarship (other than for athletics or the HOPE/Zell Miller scholarship), please report this scholarship using the form below by May. 6th. We want to celebrate you!

Most post-secondary options request an official copy of students' final transcripts. Students can go ahead and submit their requests for these final transcripts through Parchment. When submitting the request, students will change the request from "SEND NOW" to "HOLD FOR GRADES". Please use the below buttons to access final transcript request directions and the Parchment website:

**FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS - You will also need to send a final transcript from your college if you are attending a different one next year!

**FOR AP TESTS - Reminder to send your college these scores as well!


National Intelligence Summer Academy (NISA)

Are you thrilled or fascinated by the field of intelligence – spying and counter spying?

Are you considering a career in the U.S. Intelligence Community? Did you know that the U.S. Intelligence Community is made up of 18 separate agencies? Sign up for an intense and exciting five days of learning from highly qualified Master’s and Ph.D. University of North Georgia instructors and practitioners from July 18-22, 2022.

Application Deadline: May 15th, 2022

UNG - Summer Honors Program

Summer honors is a unique experience that allows high school students the opportunity to challenge themselves both in and outside of the classroom. Students will spend the majority of camp completing a leadership curriculum that features courses taught by university faculty and adventure-learning. Students experience a rigorous academic and leadership environment injected with excitement and fun.

Camp Details

  • Camp Dates: June 12 - June 24, 2022
  • Application Due Date: May 15, 2022
  • Cost: $1,420 per camper
    • Prices/fees are subject to change without notice.
  • Who Can Apply: High school students between their junior and senior year of high school with a GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale

Youth Leadership Forsyth

UGA Creative Scholars Summer Program

A summer opportunity for highly motivated 8th-10th graders. The Creative Scholars Program is a two-week residential camp for strong leaders and creative minds to experience life on UGA's campus by staying in a residence hall and taking a course taught by a current graduate student. This is a great opportunity for students to begin exploring college early.

You have proven to yourself how much you can overcome and those kinds of skills can help take you so far in life.
