Checking your smartphone first thing in the morning has the potential to do several things:
- make you more stressed out and overwhelmed
- make it more difficult for you to prioritize tasks
- make you feel already behind in your day.
(literally all of those have been me)
BUT, if we don’t look at our phones right away, we are more likely to feel more present and mindful about how we’re feeling, rather than letting our emails and notifications tell us how we should be feeling.

DID YOU KNOW about half of the nation are setting two alarms and snoozing each one twice. With 52% wishing their parents would wake them up and 49% saying it’s because they’re too cosy.
Its alarming (sorry, for the terrible pun) to think if you snooze 4 times, you lose 36 minutes in the morning. Resulting in 156 hours lost in a year which is almost 1 whole week.
AND snoozing apparently gives you no better sleep quality either - theres apparently very little upside to snoozing!
