Powder Puff
On October 5, two teams of high school girls squared off in a head to head match of powder puff. The Annual Powder Puff Game is a fun way for students to watch a more unconventional sport while also raising money for Publications. The green and red teams practiced trick plays all week in hopes to win the bragging rights that come along with the game each year.
Before the game, players painted their faces and warmed up with their teammates to get pumped up for the big game. Students Jackson Waddleton, Kevin Davis, and Brett Bush provided an entertaining announcement of the match-up. The game itself was a very heated, and players battled until the very last second. Interesting end zone celebrations kept the game lively. In the end, the green team came out on top, but all players and spectators had a great time!

Halloween Scary Story
Once upon a time on a dark and stormy night, Callie was walking home from her friend’s house; she heard a laugh in the distance and as she turned around, there was nothing there, but she felt like somebody was watching her. She ignored the feeling and kept walking until she heard the noise again. This time when she turned around, she saw the oddly shaped figure of a man holding balloons and laughing hysterically. She remembered that morning when her mother had told her to be careful because there had been sightings of men dressed like clowns. She dropped her bag and her books and started running, but the unsettling laughing kept getting closer and closer. She tripped over a rock, but as she fell she managed to grab the rock and throw it in the direction of the laughter. She struck the figure and heard a loud thud she got up and walked closer to the clown laying on the ground. The clown lifted up his head and the girl then took off running. She ran across the street and a car barley missed the side of her leg she kept running as she looked behind her the clown was running after her and the car hit the clown but when she turned around the clown was gone like he had disappeared into thin air. The car drove away and there was no sign or evidence of a clown even being there she was scared. Callie ran home scared and shook up. In the distance a pair of balloon followed closely behind another young girl and in the distance she heard, a very soft laughing.

Demonstrating God's Love
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:8-11
Love is great for multiple reasons. God is love and He demonstrates it daily to us. He was sacrificed on the cross for people like you and me. He loves us so much. One important thing to God is how we treat other people. It is very hard to be nice to people or to love people who have hurt you, been mean to you, or annoy you. God cares deeply how we act towards other people.
No matter what people think of you, God always wants us to show them love. The only opinion that matters about you is what God thinks. Is it better to be mean to someone and make them feel the same way you do, or is it better to be nice to someone who is difficult? God tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute you. God will definitely be proud if you demonstrate the love he gives us to other people, even the difficult ones. Most of all, He is with you through it all. So today, demonstrate love to someone else because you have the perfect example.By: Kelsey Leach
See You At The Pole
On September 28, Y-Club hosted another See You at the Pole event. We gathered as many people as we could to come join us in prayer. Everyone who walked through the door was invited. We prayed for our county, country, community, school, and anything or anyone else who needs prayers. We began with gathering in small groups and all praying. It was a great experience to see everyone gather in prayer and to see His light shine through us. At the end, everyone joined hands and prayed as a big group. It was wonderful to see all the people who love the Lord come together and pray to Him. I am looking forward to next year’s event!
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify you Father in Heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Cans for Cupcakes
Starting on October 24, Y-Club is promoting a school-wide competition entitled Cans for Cupcakes where each homeroom in elementary, middle, and high school brings in cans of food for the local food bank. Whichever homeroom brings in the most cans gets a cupcake party. The Y-Club is doing this activity to reach community needs. There’s going to be a winner for elementary, middle, and high school. Make sure to bring in canned food to increase your chances of your homeroom getting cupcakes!
