May Newsletter

May is HERE!!

Wow… I can't believe it's May!! I told my class one day last week that we only had 20 days of school left and they were NOT happy!! They made me erase the 20 days that I wrote on the board! They said they did NOT want school to be over!! Can you believe that!!! I took it down and said we would ignore the countdown! But, the fact is that we are in the last few weeks of school.

Because this group of kids have worked so hard and they have grown so much this year, Mrs. Crowson and I are doing something we have never done before! We are ending the year with TWO thematic weeks!!

This is what we have planned ...

In my classroom this week, we will be closing out our last chapters in math, science, and social studies. We should be finished with our HUGE math book by Thursday and they will get to bring that home soon.

Field Day is this Friday with Noon Dismissal!

OCEAN WEEK!! May 8th - 12th

Next week, May 8th-12th will be OCEAN week! We will be having a FUN week learning about the ocean! This will be a fun unit as many are heading to the beach after school!

Students will have plenty of books to read on ocean animals and ocean / beach theme stories.

Students are able to bring a beach towel to lay on if they would like to.

We will spend the week reading, playing math games, and doing some ocean art. We are hoping to get a reading pool in here too!
