A Message from Mrs. Fantaskey

American Education Week

American Education Week is an opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and watch your children in action as they learn something new, participate in a curricular activity, or give a special presentation for visitors. This year, Central Bucks invites you to join us the week of November 14-18, 2022.

The visitation schedule for your child’s grade level provides one targeted time to visit so that we can concentrate efforts, and accommodate parking, traffic flow, etc. We ask parent/guardians to adhere to this schedule. Teachers will follow their normal schedule and routines of teaching lessons and engaging students. Please take this opportunity to share a mathematics, reading language arts, or science/social studies lesson with your child. Please remember that cell phone use while in the school is not permitted, and that this is an adults only visit. Out of respect for our students, teachers, and the learning process, we ask that parents not bring younger siblings into the classrooms.

All visitors will need to bring their photo ID, to sign in at the main office through the School Gate Guardian System before entering the classrooms. We are asking all parents to RSVP by clicking on the link below. You will need to complete the RSVP for each classroom you plan to visit.

Doyle Elementary American Education Week RSVP

This will help us to know who is planning to attend and will give us time to pre-print visitor labels to help with the arrival of our guests. If you are not scanned into the system, please stop by our main office prior to 11/11/2022. If not, we will scan your ID on the day of your visit. We ask for your patience, as this may take some time with multiple visitors.

We look forward to welcoming you to Doyle Elementary and sharing as partners in your child’s learning.

Thanksgiving Share

During this Thanksgiving season, the staff and students of Doyle Elementary School plan to share the spirit of this time of warmth, caring, and love with families from our local neighborhood. We would like to share this project as an entire school community and create Thanksgiving food boxes for our families who need extra support. Through this cooperative effort of Doyle’s staff, students, parents and community members, we can realize again the valuable lesson that real joy in life comes from sharing.

Please help us by clicking on the link below and reading the list, which will tell you what each classroom is asked to contribute.

The Thanksgiving Share collection will be

from Wednesday, November 9 to Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

If you would like to donate a gift card for a family or make a monetary donation that would be used to purchase food for the collection, please send the donation in an envelope marked “Attention Ms. Kowalchick / Thanksgiving Share” and include your name and contact information.

Thank you!

**Please understand that this project is purely voluntary.**

Thank you for your care and support!

Ms. Tracy Kowalchick Student Support Counselor

Part of our Veterans Day Tradition at Doyle is our Wall of Honor, where we display pictures of veterans who are family members to our students and staff members. We are asking our Doyle families to submit pictures of family members who served in the military- US Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, Coast Guard, etc. We do keep our pictures from year to year, so if you have not done so in previous years, please email the pictures of yourself or relatives to bernst@cbsd.org with

  • Name of Veteran
  • Rank/Unit
  • Relation to Doyle student

Thank you for your help in honoring our veterans.

6th Grade Clear Touch Panel = Student Engagement

Mrs. Cirulli's call used the Clear Touch for writing analysis. using a mentor text and blank page on the screen, students were able to identify and note elements of a personal narrative. Everyone was engaged and part of the thinking process that was necessary to break down the mentor text and use is as a springboard for the students' narrative stories. Great way to incorporate this technology tool to increase student engagement!

Fall Fest Coordinator Wanted

Dear Doyle Families,

We are looking for a Fall Fest Coordinator for next year's Fall Fest and what better time then starting now. If you would like to get involved and run a Doyle event then we would love to hear from you! You would have autonomy in choosing a location and deciding on plans for the Fall Fest, but you would not be alone at all. You would have all the members of the DHSA board to help with any questions, concerns or issues that arise.

Please email your interest at Doylehsa@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

The Doyle HSA members

Watering of Planters outside of the Office

The Go Green Committee needs volunteers to water the arrangements/planters by the office, weather pending. This quick and easy task allows us all to enjoy the beautiful flowers. The flowers need to be watered September - November.

Lunches for Teachers

We are excited to bring back a Doyle tradition by hosting a luncheon for our teachers and staff during winter conferences.

The luncheon will be held this year on Monday, December 12th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM for staff to grab in between parent conferences.

Please sign up for one of the slots to bring homemade soup or chili. We also need salads, breads, drinks, desserts and other items all to be dropped off or sent in with your student before 11:00 AM on the 12th. Thanks for helping us make this a SOUPER event.
