Prayer - Lent Week 2

Loving God

Through your Son, Jesus, you show us how to be happy.

In this special time of Lent, may we listen to Jesus as he tells us how to care for one another, how to encourage and support one another and how to be accepting and welcoming to all.

We ask this prayer through Jesus, your Son.

Year 2 Assembly

Tomorrow at 8.50am in the hall, the Year 2 class will be showcasing their talents and letting the community know what they have been working on at their assembly. I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with. It promises to be a lot of fun.

NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests will be conducted for all Year Three & Five Students here at Queen of Apostles from Wednesday 15 March to Tuesday 21 March. Catch up tests for students absent on those days will be available until Monday 27 March.

This year all NAPLAN Assessments, except for Year 3 writing, will be conducted online. All Year 3 and 5 students participating have had opportunities to sit online practice tests so they are familiar with the system and types of questions they may encounter.

COVID

There are a few cases of COVID in the community at the moment. Please look out for any signs and symptoms and, as with any sickness, keep the students home until they are well.

The COVID portal no longer exists so If your child does test positive to COVID please let us know when you report their absence. We also ask that you keep them home until they are well to minimise the spread and keep our school safe and open.

Interschool Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to our Interschool Swimming Team who competed really well at Fremantle Leisure Centre this morning.

There were some excellent performances with Martina (Yr 5) and Hayden (Yr 6) coming away with runner up champion medals. Overall we finished in 4th position.

Thank you to Mr B for organising and training the team and to Mrs Anderson and Mrs Joiner for helping out today. Thank you also to the parents that came to support our students.

Year 1 Lent in Action

PROJECT COMPASSION 2023

In Year 1, we have chosen to recognise Lent through giving funds to improve access to clean water for children around the world.

When a child donates a gold coin, they are given a ‘water droplet’ to represent their giving and are asked to write a thoughtful prayer on this droplet. We are watching our water flow grow.
