A Message from Mrs. Caudill
I feel this week we are finally getting into our groove. Our virtual learners have gotten used to learning in a new space and our in-person students have started to fill our hallways again. I see my staff making a strong effort to provide exceptional learning for our students every day, and I see students and parents, doing to best to adapt and engage. Together we are doing hard things.
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

NWEA MAP begins this week!
Your child’s teacher will be sharing his/her NWEA MAP schedule with you soon. Over the next three weeks all of our students will be taking two NWEA MAP tests, one for reading and one for math. Here is a little information to help you and your child/ren have a successful experience with NWEA MAP this fall.
This District Video will give you an overview of NWEA and how it will work this fall. Please watch to get answers to your questions: NPS and NWEA Fall 2020
There is information specific to our online learners and how these students will log in for testing in the video. More information will be provided once the District-wide schedule has been set.
Students who are Face 2 Face students will be testing in person as they return to in person learning over the next few weeks. If your child/ren has been using a District-provided device, he/she should bring it to school on the day of testing. Your child/ren is also welcome to bring and use their own device for testing. We ask that you do not send iPads to be used for NWEA MAP testing. We can also provide a device on the day of testing if needed.

Devices for In-person students
We have devices at school that can be used, we just can’t guarantee a device for every student that no other student might not need to use.
- If you borrowed a device, bring it with you.
- If you have a device you want to bring, we would welcome it.
- If you don't have either, we will provide one at school.
Arrival and Dismissal
Since this year is a little different than years past, arrival and dismissal will look differently too. Please watch the following with your student(s) so they know what to do in the morning and in the afternoon.
Loop Reminder!
For the safety of our students we need us bring awareness the loop for proper use or "etiquette". Parents it is for everyone's benefit that we need everyone to follow these instructions. Also, please do not get upset when volunteers try to enforce loop etiquette.
- Form TWO lanes as you enter the parking lot, to keep cars off 8 Mile Rd.
- MERGE alternating lanes when you approach unloading/loading zone.
- Pull ALL THE WAY forward to the farthest available volunteer.
- Try to stay BUMPER TO BUMPER in the loop, don’t leave space between cars.

Ready for School!
Classroom Ready Checklist
***********************************
All lunches must be pre-ordered by 9:00am
Families must pre-order by 9 am of the day of pick up or delivery. Meals must be pre-ordered using the District’s Nutrislice online program, or through the Nutrislice app, available on the Apple Store or Google Play. Additional information, including a video about the Nutrislice pre-ordering process is available on the Food Service Department website.

Where are the lunch meals being made available?
In-person learners must pre-order their lunch which will be delivered to the students’ classrooms. If you have multiple students attending in-person, parents will need to order meals for each of their students individually in Nutrislice. Please make sure that you choose the correct school and the correct classroom/teacher for each of your students when ordering for multiple students.
Online learners must also pre-order their lunch. Online learners' lunches can be picked up in the west parking lot (Athletics Department) entrance of Northville High School (45700 Six Mile Rd.) between the hours of 11 am and 1 pm each school day.
Free lunch for all students!
The Northville Public Schools Food Services Department is pleased to announce that Northville Public Schools students may now receive a free lunch each school day!
The free meals were made possible after district officials received a waiver sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture. This change resumes the summer meal rules and regulations allowing Northville Public Schools students to receive free meals including Pre-K students. Please see the updated details below, and if you have a need for food, items may be ordered on through Nutrislice from the District website.
This program is currently planned to end on December 18th, 2020 – or until funding is exhausted – families should be aware that this USDA waiver does not replace the need to apply for free or reduced meals for the remainder of the school year for those families who are eligible. Free and Reduced meal applications from the last school year expire on October 19, 2020, and participation in the program must be renewed annually.

Covid-19 Daily Screening
Parents are required to check students for COVID-19 symptoms EACH DAY BEFORE sending a child to school. By sending your child to school, you are declaring that you have completed the NPS COVID-19 Student Symptom Checker/Screening Tool and that your child is not exhibiting any of the symptoms or conditions listed. If you answer “YES” to one or more questions, you must keep your child home from school. It is essential that this process be done daily with integrity and fidelity as modeled in this Daily Screening Public Service Announcement. Temperature checks at school may be instituted periodically as appropriate.
