Slow Down

This Wednesday night we will be in our third week of our new series called Slow Down. Last week we looked at the idea of rest and our need for genuine relationship with God, which in turn leads us to the true rest our souls long for. This week we will be looking at the importance of rest in our daily lives and some practical ways to achieve it. For those interested in reading ahead, our passages will be Philippians 4:6-7; Joshua 1:8; and Psalm 1:2-3.

Using Your Online Voice Responsibly

I read an article this week dealing with online forum trolls. It is so interesting how something can come across your social media stream that peaks your interest and before long you are ranging at the unknown user on your screen, believing that if they would just understand your point and stop being dumb this world and all of its problems would be solved.

I must admit that from time to time I have fallen into this trap. It is so easy in our day and time of online interaction to find someone with a differing opinion and proceed to enlighten them as to the ignorance of their opinion and the righteousness of your own. But Scripture is clear that you an I will give an account for our words, both those spoken to someone;s face and those spoken behind their backs. What often goes unnoticed is that when we bash someone online, even though we are typing, we are still using words and our words online will still have an account taken for them in the end. Jaclyn Parrish offers some interesting insight into thinking before you type that I would heartily recommend you to read. The article is linked below. God Bless!!!!!
