Week of the Young Child (WOYC)

We are once again participating in the Week of the Young Child. This year it is April 4-8. Week of the Young Child is a national celebration to celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. In conjunction with WOYC we are having a Spirit/Dress-up Week. The days are themed as follows:

Sunday: Dress your Best

Monday: Magical World of Disney

Tuesday: Color Wars

Wednesday: Wacky Hair/Outfit

Thursday: Superhero Day

Friday: Flannel Friday


Montana Association for the Education of Young Children (MTAEYC) is planning an event at Lawrence Park on Thursday, April 21 from 4-6pm in conjunction with the Nurturing Center's Blue Ribbon Event to raise awareness to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Books and Breakfast

On Friday, April 8 we will be having "Books and Breakfast" in each classroom. This is a time for you to come have some breakfast with your child and then read a book together. Breakfast will be available 7:00-9:00 AM in a buffet type setting. We will be providing continental breakfast items such as muffins, breads, fruits and coffee. We will also have some books for you to choose from, or you can bring a favorite book from home. We hope all of you can attend this event with your child.

Field Trips

You may have noticed that our field trips are pretty few and far between. This is because we do not have a regular bus driver. If you know of anyone that has a CDL please let them know we are looking for a bus driver. We will especially need one this summer so the children can enjoy activities around the valley.

We will be closed April 15th for Good Friday. Have a Happy Easter!

Spring Clean-up Day

On Saturday, May 14, we will be having a special day to clean up all of the centers and make any needed improvements. The Clean-up is scheduled for 8:30-1:30 with lunch provided for all participants. We greatly appreciate any and all help offered during this time. Watch for a sign-up sheet to choose an area where you would prefer to help. Or, if you have noticed any special projects that need attention, please talk to your classroom teacher or Amy in the office.

Immunization Update

When your child receives new immunizations, please bring those records in to the office. We must keep immunizations up to date on all children. Our records are checked yearly to make sure all children are current. Thank you for your help in this matter.
