Using the supplied maya file called Lighting_Styles_01.mb found in the scenes folder of the lighting styles folder you will need to light and render 6 different lighting styles that demonstrate your foundational understanding of maya's rendering and lighting tools. The 6 lighting styles you will render are Rembrandt, Broad, Short, Top, Under and Rim. You can use the images bellow to help you identify the placement of lights to achieve the various styles but you really need to think about how light and shadow work together to create drama, depth and style in a scene. Feel free to use some colour and other creative liberties in how you want to demonstrate and present your lighting styles.
When your rendered images are complete you will need to create a presentation online similar to this one I used in SMORE that clearly identifies the title, your name as well as containing an image and title for each style. When complete you will need to email me at (edin.ibric@durhamcollege.ca) with a link to your online presentation before the start of next class. I recommend using Smore for this but you can use any online artifact you prefer (tumblr, blog, etc).
