Happy February!
We had a very productive week back! There is a lot going on this month. SO make sure you check out all the above dates. Tuesday marks our 100th day of 4th grade!! We can't believe the year is going this quickly. We are on the downhill slope of 4th grade! At the end of this month, we will take the 1st part of TN READY. Mrs. Grant will be discussing the new testing at the PTA meeting Tuesday night. Also any opportunity your student has to practice keyboarding and typing skills at home as well would be a huge benefit. The ELA and Social Studies parts of this test require a lot of typing. Students have been working on this is Technology, but any extra at home even if its typing word sort words or passages from a story would be helpful.

Math Corner-Fractions & Decimals
NF.4C Solve word problems involving multiplication of a fraction by a whole number, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem.
For example, if each person at a party will eat 3/8 of a pound of roast beef, and there will be 5 people at the party, how many pounds of roast beef will be needed? Between what two whole numbers does your answer lie?
NF.5 Express a fraction with denominator 10 as an equivalent fraction with denominator 100, and use this technique to add two fractions with respective denominators 10 and 100. For example, express 3/10 as 30/100, and add 3/10 + 4/100 = 34/100.
