-Please make sure to read with your child to build up their fluency and comprehension skills.
-Transportation changes need to be called into the front office.
-Sign up for Remind to get important updates and reminders from your students teacher.
-If you have any questions or concerns, contact your student's teacher.
-We love celebrating student birthdays!! In 2nd grade we will celebrate at the end of the day starting at 2:30 (only store bought cupcakes or treats).
Family Focus
This year we are taking more of a family focused approach to homework. We believe that spending quality family time is vital in the success of your student. We will provide family friendly, engaging homework activities and assignments. We would love if you would send us pictures of these activities and share them with us.
This weeks Family focus: Searching for 2D shapes- This week in math we are learning about 2D shapes. Go for a hunt around your house or when you are out and about. Take pictures of different 2D shapes that you find.
Academics
Contractions-a shorter way to say two words. The first word stays the same and the second word gets a letter or letters taken out and are replaced by an apostrophe.
Reading: We will be reading two versions of the same story and compare the similarities and differences.
ELA: We are learning about contractions.
Math:Students will identify 2 Dshapes and their attributes.
Science: Students will be learning about Natural Resources vs Man made resources
Social Studies: Students will discuss the functions and responsibilities of the government.

The best way to get logged into these resources is to go to the Red Oak ISD website.
At the top click on students
Then scroll down to where it says sign into class link (maroon Tab with white letters)
Students will only need to log into that, then they will automatically be logged into the resources without having to remember so many different passwords.
