Fourth of July Festivities Set
Rock the pool for the Fourth of July!
We're planning a fun-filled family day for everyone from 1- p.m.-5 p.m., with games and crafts run by the lifeguards. The Socials Committee tentatively is planning:
11:45 a.m. Water Balloon or Water Bomb Game on the grassy knoll
12:30 p.m. Fourth of July-themed crafts on the grassy knoll
1:30 p.m. Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social under the cabanas
2:15 p.m. Cannonball contest – dive well
3:00 p.m. Greased Watermelon game in the main pool
4:30 p.m. Tee shirt swim relay The grill will be available.
Have ideas on how we might add to this list of fun? Let the Socials Committee know at firstname.lastname@example.org!
We also would love to have parents and teens involving in helping to plan and run our Fourth of July Poolside on Tuesday.
The grill also will be available for family picnicking and ice cream treats (kosher and non-kosher) will be for sale.
The pool will close at 6 p.m. so everyone can go enjoy the fireworks in the area! To find fireworks and other events to go to nearby, check out these listings.
Pool Opens Late on Sunday
The pool will be opening at about 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, after the swim team hosts all the other teams in its division for a Relay Carnival -- a rollicking fun competition of four-swimmer races.
While you're waiting to swim, you can grab lunch from the Kangaroo Kafe. Burgers, hot dogs, and lot of other yummy things on the menu.
On Sunday, July 9, the Kangaroos host the Twinbrook Tigers for their final home meet of the summer.
The pool will be closed for the meet until noon, but as with all the home meets the lifeguards will be up in the chairs sooner if possible.
First Pizza Night's a Smashing Success!
Our first Pizza Night at the Pool was a smashing success June 25th!
It was Raft Night, so there was a sizable crowd of hungry swimmers.
Fifteen large pizzas flew out of our hands in no time!
You can enjoy pizza for dinner every Sunday now through August 27.
We're only selling Ben Yehuda's pizzas: $3 for a slice, $5 for two slices, $20 for an entire pie.
And we're accepting PayPal (includes a transaction fee) as well as cash payments poolside.
Many thanks to Jim Altman, who took the lead for the first Pizza Night. But we could do with some more helpers!
Please volunteer to help with picking up the pizzas at Ben Yehuda's or with selling them poolside at this Sign-up Genius .
