"Remembering Our Fallen" comes to LPS
Traveling Photo Memorial of Nebraska’s Fallen on Display
March 16- 20, 2020
An emotional memorial, Remembering Our Fallen, is a stark reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by Nebraskans killed in The War on Terror (Post-9/11/2001) while wearing our country’s uniform in a war zone. The photo memorial, which includes military and personal photos of each of Nebraska’s Fallen, is traveling throughout the state and will be coming to Louisville Public Schools the week of March 16th. More information can be found at: PatrioticProductions.org.
“We must remember these American Heroes and speak their names when we see their family members. We can never forget those who sacrificed everything for our freedom,” said Bill Williams, co-creator of the memorial. “While this memorial is about those who have died, it was created for the living…to help the families in their grief, while reminding the rest of us of the terrible price paid for our freedom by our current generation of military.”
The display will be showcased in our cafeteria/commons next to the concession stands.
Information to Share Regarding Coronavirus
At the suggestion of the CDC and health department, public schools across the United States are planning for the coronavirus. As the health and safety of our students is always our top priority, LPS is in the process of developing an approach for this type of situation.
Currently, we are working closely with local and state health officials, as well as other school districts to identify our best options. As a group, we will organize and work together, so in the event that something may arise, we will be ready. More importantly, we will maintain open lines of communication with our staff and families so everyone is aware of the district’s status.
Until we hear differently, the school day and activities will continue as normal. As always, we will place an emphasis on good hygiene, hand washing and staying home when sick; just as we always do during the flu season. Please let your building principal know if your child(ren) are sick. Should anything change, we will notify you immediately.
