Dorothea Lang was just walking along and saw the perfect shot of a mother and her children struggling. So she asked the women to take a photo of her and the woman consented and so she did. It was taken in Nipomo, California, and it was just simply a perfect shot outside. The story is a mother was struggling to feed her children so they were starving. She sold the tire's on her car and her kid's went out and killed bird's or they would go to the field's nearby and take frozen vegetables. This portrait captured society's attention and portrayed the history and a family's struggle in the 1930's. It is a very unique photo.
I liked this portrait it is very unique and show's how the people struggled in the 1930's. I would not change a single thing about the portrait i think it was well captivated. I also think that Dorothea Lang captured the mother and her children's personality. She did a very good job with the way she did it. Especially since she was just walking by and seen the perfect shot and took it.
