A Note from Ms. Owens
Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who came out to Back-to-School Night on Wednesday. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet with so many parents and I look forward to working with you and your students! And thank you to Mrs. Fleckenstein for sharing her faith journey with us and reminding us that a lived and practiced faith will support us through the most challenging times of our lives.
On behalf of the school, I want to give a huge thank you to all of the people who worked so hard to make the carnival such a huge success. Because of their dedication, the carnival continues to raise much-needed funds to support efforts at both the school and the church. We are definitely a stronger community because of them!
A few parents have asked about when band will start. This morning after morning prayer, Mr. Gula met briefly with band students. Band will begin on Thursday, September 12.
Tomorrow, Friday, September 30, dismissal is at noon. We will not be eating lunch in school and there is no after school care.
I hope you and your loved ones are able to enjoy this three-day Labor Day weekend and find time to give thanks to the laborers and workers who do the work that helps our world run.
Peace,
Kristine Owens

Church Renovation Update
Abatement work is underway. All abatement work will be done after classes have been dismissed for the day. The church doors as well as the vents have been sealed, and the HVAC (air conditioning) for the church is not in operation. Abatement work will not involve the vestibule; entry and exit will happen via the wooden doors off the back parking lot.
We know families are concerned about the hot weather that often accompanies the start of the school year since we will not be able to use the church. Because masses are being held in the gym, we won't be having gym classes there and will be able to use it as cooling center. Additionally, once the HVAC in the church can be turned back on, we can use the vestibule too.
