Art Rutkin Elementary Update

Welcome Families!
“Success is a symptom of a strong community.” This quote from Stephen Jon Thompson captures a great deal of what I believe about working with young people and adults. We will have a special community at Art Rutkin Elementary that will be grounded in doing what is best for the children as community members and learners. Words are not enough to express the excitement that I feel for being part of this new school community with each student, family member, community partner and soon-to-be staff members. We will make this an exceptional school community to be part of. I want to personally thank everyone who has attended recent meetings, reached out through email and phone calls, and those who I have been able to connect with around Tigard. The kindness and appreciation for the new school that has been shared with me has been a fun and humbling experience. My expectations will be high for how this new school will serve students in TTSD. I know everyone’s expectations will be equally as high. I am happy to have this opportunity to share current Art Rutkin Elementary School information and updates with you all as we near the winter break.

Staffing:
Art Rutkin’s staff has now officially doubled! Stacy Snyder has been hired as our head secretary and office manager for the new school. Stacy has been part of this school district as a community member, volunteer and office staff member for over 25 years. She has a wealth of elementary school office experience that will help get everything off to a smooth start. Stacy will start this new position in January. Welcome to the Art Rutkin staff Stacy!
Enrollment At Art Rutkin Elementary:
Kindergarten - 5th Grade at Art Rutkin Elementary:
Art Rutkin Elementary enrollment for kindergarten students and new to TTSD families will open for the online enrollment process on January 23, 2023.

Construction:
Construction is still moving forward according to most timelines. The middle of March is the current timeframe for completion. Updates will continue to be provided each month.
Campus Tours:
Dates and times for tours of the new school and campus will be shared out as soon as there is a confirmed completion date. The first opportunities will likely be in April 2023. Please see links for updated school images, videos and information.
