Ten Thousand Villages Campus Sale
The holidays are around the corner and Ten Thousand Villages sale is now up and running! The store is located in the Benedum Campus Center Game Room (next to Sunny Bucks) and is open today, November 13 through next Wednesday, November 20. Store hours are weekdays from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM and the weekend (Saturday & Sunday) from 1:00-7:00 PM.
Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit retail store dedicated to the establishment and sustainability of fair trade in developing countries around the world. They partner with numerous artisans of unique backgrounds and skills to bring beautiful, handmade and quality-created products to their customers. Fair trade is the buying and selling of quality products at a fair price that factors in the time, effort, and skill required to create them. Through this partnership, Ten Thousand Villages seeks to not only create opportunities for artisans to sell their products at appropriate prices, but to also create a lasting and sustainable relationship with those artisans.
If you are interested in supporting fair trade, or just need an excellent gift for someone, please stop buy and check out our merchandise! There is a wide variety, including coffee, scarves, jewelry, and much more. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Shawna Clayton or Elaine Ashman.

WVWC Reaching Out Across the Pacific
At least 10,000 have died in Typhoon Haiyan's wake -- possibly the strongest storm ever to make landfall when it battered the Philippines Friday, Nov. 8. With sustained winds of 195 mph, the category 5 storm cut a swath of devastation across the northern tip of Cebu and tore through the three large island provinces of Samar, Leyte and Bohol.
The Chapel Office will partner with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to provide monetary assistance for disaster response.
For students, faculty and staff desiring to contribute:
Cash and checks (made payable to UMCOR) will be collected in the Chapel Office through the end of the semester, December 10.
UMCOR has no "overhead" costs and 100% of all contributions are tax-deductible, going to direct aid. They are already working through partners in the Philippines to provide assistance immediately.
