October 17, 2016
Dear Parents,
Thank you for for your valuable comments and questions on the conference planning form. I look forward to discussing your child’s progress with you and share their academic goals and strategies we will be using to achieve success.
See you this week,

Writing:
This week our writers will be given time to dive into their independent writing pieces. This writer’s workshop time allows students to use their creativity to create a variety of writing pieces. Some examples of writing pieces that students create during this time are: a creative narrative story, an expository essay/brochure to explain a specific topic, comic book/graphic novel, a persuasive writing to persuade a specific audience to act in a desired way. During this time students work through the writing process and engage in thoughtful discussions with peers and teacher. Be sure to ask your child what they are working on in writer’s workshop this week!
