In ELA, we have been working on recounting a story using our "Elements of Literature" bookmark. The students have practiced whole group, with partners, and on their own. We are working on adding "razzle dazzle," character traits, and main events using temporal words to our story recounts. We will continue to work on this skill throughout the rest of the school year!

We made a "wordle" using various character traits. They are up, ready for you to view, when we see you at conferences.

We are wrapping up our first unit of High Frequency/Power words. The students have become great word detectives and are always getting excited when they spot one of the "HF" words in a book, at a station, or on a worksheet!! We continue to add these words to our individual quick word books!

In math, we have worked REALLY HARD on various types of word problems! We've learned to use math mountains, equations, and draw compare pictures to find out the answer to our word problem. We will be finishing up our first unit this week and beginning to review for our first, unit one, assessment next week. Please be aware we will continue to take "quick quizzes" throughout the unit. These will provide the teachers and you an update as to how your child is doing on the current unit.

Thank you for your support of our new math curriculum!

Book Order

Book orders are one of the best way to give back to our classroom! When you place a book order for your child, the teacher receives points to exchange for books, games, and other materials for the classroom. If you would like to place a book order, please click on the link below:
