Timberwolf Times
Volume 2, Issue 34 - April 22, 2020
A Message from Dr. Stone
Good evening Timberwolf Nation!
I'm sure you have heard by now that Governor Abbott has closed school for the rest of the school year which means that we won't get to celebrate in a typical manner BUT we have some exciting things planned that will hopefully make up for the fact that we all won't be face to face and together for a while. In lieu of the 8th Grade Howlout that we normally do, I am putting together an 8th grade "Howlout" video that I need students' help with! See below for details. We are working on Students Awards as well. There are a couple of other things in the works, I just have to get permission to do them so stay tuned!
A couple of other things that I wanted to mention is that the district is currently working on a plan for students to clean out their lockers and return athletic items, textbooks, and instruments. As soon as we get word, I will let you know. For Spring Photos - their lab is currently closed; they'll deliver when we're back on campus, at which time we will work out distribution.
COVID-19 will not stop us from celebrating our students the best way we know how!
Regards,
Dr. Melinda Stone
Principal
WoodCreek Junior High
RSVP - Coffee with the Principal
Coffee With the Principal will be on Thursday, April 30th, from 11:00am to 12:00noon.
To attend, please e-mail Ms. Bollich, Dr. Stone's secretary, with your name, your student's name(s), and their grade(s), at MeredithBollich@katyisd.org. She will then forward you the link to the online meeting.
Teacher Appreciation Week
We think that more than anything, the best treat we could give them would be thoughts and well wishes from their students! Please use the link below for your student(s) to submit a thought or a thank you or maybe a picture drawn to thank their teacher. You can submit as many times to as many teachers as you'd like. Please contact MeredithBollich@katyisd.org with any questions.
Attention all 8th Graders!
Upload a short video of yourself to your Katy ISD Google drive, and then share it with us. We will gather them all together for a fun mash-up of you and all of your friends. Keep in mind the following guidelines:
- The video can be no more than 10 seconds
- Include your name, a brief message to your friends/classmates/teachers/etc, and where you'll be going to school next year
- Wear school-appropriate clothing. Do not use any inappropriate language or make any inappropriate gestures.
- Upload the video to your student Katy ISD Google drive, and share it with us to MeredithBollich@katyisd.org.
- Note: The final video will be published here and must be considered public. If you do not want your child's image to be included, please do not submit a video.
