Schedule Notices

8th grade will make up the missed class from the bad weather day Friday, March 6th.


6th graders in the 2nd period class will make up the class missed from the play/bad weather day Monday, March 9th, during the 7th & 8th grade SOS assesmbly.


6th grade will meet on Wednesday next week. Ms. Hanna will be out Tuesday at the SXSWedu conference.


Research summary assignment is due next week.

Explore UT: Saturday, March 7th

Saturday, March 7th is Explore UT day. This free event is billed as the largest open house in Texas. It lasts from 11 am to 5 pm, and features activities for students in K-12th grades. For more information, visit the Explore UT website.

SXSWedu Education Expo

Next Tuesday, March 10th, SXSWedu will host their Education Expo from 2-8 PM. This part of the conference is free and open to the public. The event is separated into six "pavilions:"


  • College Pavilion
  • Employer Pavilion
  • STEM Pavilion hosted by MAES
  • Continuing & Informal Education Pavilion
  • Music & Arts Pavilion
  • Health & Wellness Pavilion

There will be speakers as well as hands-on exhibits. For more information, visit the SXSWedu Education Expo site.

(Almost) Pi Day Reminder

GT Students can celebrate (Almost) Pi Day on Friday, March 13th during their grade level lunch. There will be a few Pi Day related activities, and students will be able to eat pie to celebrate Pi Day.


If you would like to send a pie to support this celebration, please let Ms. Hanna know. Pies may be sent to school the morning of March 13th.

Destination Imagination Tournament this Saturday

Two teams will represent Hill Country Middle School at the Capital Area Regional Destination Imagination Tournament this Saturday. Best of luck to the Flaming Drama Llamas, competing in The Improv Games challenge , and the Dream Scorpions, competing in the Feary Tales challenge.
