AP Environmental Science - Did you know?

Students in AP Environmental Science practiced their lab writing skills with a fun lab to determine if Double Stuff Oreo's really have twice the filling. Curious for the results? One class got a percent change of 99% and the other 102% so they really are double stuffed.

Game Spirit and Etiquette

We are asking for your help in two ways.

First of all, since we are still a new school, many people still do not recognize our school song. We ask that when you hear our school song played, you stand up and clap along. Also, there are two chants within the school song and we need your help to learn these so others catch on.

Chant part one: the band spells G-A-L-L-A-T-I-N Gooooo Raptors!

Chant, part two: at the end of the song, there is another chant that alternates with the drums. It goes like this: drums - G - drums - H - drums - S - GHS!

You can watch the video linked below for a video of the band playing the song to practice the chants.

Secondly, like many places, our custodial staff is short staffed right now and struggling to keep up with demands of a large high school. After games and events, please take a look around and pick up any trash that you or others left behind. When everyone contributes at games and events, it helps our custodians prioritize classrooms and teaching spaces.

Thank you for your help!

Speech and Debate

Students interested in joining Speech and Debate should plan to attend an informational meeting on Wedneday, September 20th at 3:45 in room A-145. Speech and Debate students do not need to complete paperwork in Dragonfly. The information meeting will cover required forms, activity fees, and other general information and the calendar. Practice will begin October 2, 2023.

You can also stop by and see Ms. Jackson in room A-176 with any questions.

Teach them about privacy settings, the importance of strong passwords, and the risks associated with sharing personal information online. Monitor your child's online activities and establish clear guidelines regarding internet usage. Encourage them to report any suspicious or harmful online behavior they come across (National Cybersecurity Alliance, n.d.). Reference: National Cybersecurity Alliance - Stay Safe Online.
