WCPSS Update on Coronavirus & Parent Resource
You should have received a WCPSS message as well as an email from Dr. Steidinger this week with a WCPSS update on COVID-19. You can find the message here.
If you need help talking to your kids about coronavirus, here is a great resource guide from the National Association of School Psychologists.
Silent Auction Final Tally
This money will help teachers pay for national certification as well as provide new technology in the classroom and help with some upcoming campus beautification projects.
Special thank you to the Auction Team of volunteers who organized such a lovely gala and spent the better part of the fall and winter soliciting and collecting donations as well as completing a ton of tasks related to creating and executing an event that went off without a hitch. We'd like to especially thank the core committee members: Whitney Brown, Jennifer Curtis-Maury, Mandy Wagstaff, Mandy MacNaughton, and Whitney Ludlow with a special thank you to Alison Alcaine and Carly Demas who were instrumental in getting donations.
NC School Heroes
Click here to vote for Ms. Sullivan. You can vote once a day every day until March 15th. The winner receives $10,000 for themselves PLUS $10,000 for their school!

Bruster's Reading Program
We are excited to announce our partnership with the Bruster’s Real Ice Cream Reading Program. The Bruster’s Reading Program is designed to enrich our school’s curriculum and reward our students for reaching their reading goals.
Participating in the Bruster’s Reading Program is easy; it revolves around a simple bookmark! Here’s how it works:
Your child will be asked to read a certain number of books or pages to meet their reading goal.
Your child’s reading goal will be recorded on the Bruster’s Reading Bookmark.
Once your child reaches his or her goal, he/she will be rewarded with a free regular single scoop italian ice from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream.
It’s that simple, and it’s that fun. Reading is a wonderful way to enhance your child’s creativity, imagination and love for learning. Please encourage your child’s participation in this reading program and help him/her to earn a free reading reward from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream.
Advocacy Corner - Everyone Counts!
In this week’s Advocacy Corner, let’s talk about the upcoming Census 2020.
Be on the lookout for your invitation to participate - it will arrive between March 12 and 20, and you’ll be able to fill it out online.
Why does it matter? Census results determine funding for our communities…like schools! Results also determine the number of seats our community gets in Congress and are also used to draw boundaries for our congressional AND our school districts. We all see how much Wake County has grown, so make sure to fill out your Census for an accurate representation of our community!
Want to dig in deeper? Check out the national Census website or the Wake County Census page for more information.
