Share a little bit about your family.

My husband and I live here in Breckenridge with our son. We both work for the district and love it.


Where did you grow up (hometown)?

Fort Worth/Aledo


If you attended or are attending college, where did you go?

Tech Tech and Lubbock Christian University


If you are a teacher, where have you taught previously? If you are not a teacher, what other jobs have you held prior to coming to BISD?

I started my first year in Lubbock ISD, Then one year in Hearne ISD, Then Jasper ISD for 5 years.


Describe your favorite teacher growing up.

My favorite teacher was my grad school professor. He was all-knowing about education and I looked up to him. Even though he was a little intimidating at first, he helped me learn so much and I could tell he loved teaching.


What was your favorite subject in school?

Not math


Why did you choose education as a career choice?

I want to help kids who struggle with school like I did and help them see success and build confidence in themselves.


What does success look like in your classroom?

A positive classroom culture with fun and engaging activities to reinforce lessons.


What is your favorite or funniest "teaching moment?"

Probably not a favorite or funniest but the craziest and most shocking moment was when a 4th grader vaped in the middle of me teaching a lesson.


What is your favorite thing about Breckenridge ISD?

Everyone has made us feel like we belong here and like this is our home. We look forward to staying a long time.


What advice do you have for students?

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. If you struggle with math, you're probably an expert at something else. Struggling with something doesn't mean anything bad about you and it doesn't mean you won't be successful.


What advice do you have for parents?

Work collaboratively with teachers. Have faith and a little grace.


What advice do you have for a first-year teacher?

Lean on your team. Teachers need teachers.


What is your ideal vacation spot?

Jackson Hole, Wyoming


What is your favorite quote?

The kids who need the most love will ask for it in the most unloving ways.


What is your favorite movie?

I can't choose


What is your favorite food?

Taco Pizza


What do you do in your spare time (hobbies, etc)?

Hang out with my family.
