A Message from Mrs. Caudill
It looks like the first warmer days after our cold winter will be here next week. The warmer weather always adds a bit of spring to my step. I love being able to go home and enjoy the outside for a while with my son. I know our students love the warmer days to come too. I look forward to hearing about riding bikes, going on hikes or just playing outside in the backyard.
However, we know this weather may not last. Please make sure you are checking the weather daily and sending your child dressed appropriately for recess that day - one day it might be shorts and the next could be hats, gloves and boots. Gotta love Michigan!
Stay Well,
Devon Caudill

Spring Conference Sign-up
Please note that the conference window will close Sunday, March 19th at 11:55 P.M.
Time is quickly approaching for our spring student-led conferences. This time of the year is an exciting way for your child to show how he/she has grown as a learner. Students will present to you their leadership notebook and share examples of their learning success and growth in reading, writing, math, and other areas of their choice. Student-led conferences are in accordance with our Leader in Me practices. The classroom teacher will be present in the room and available for brief questions.
Please view the sign up and find a convenient time for you and your child to attend. We are excited to have you participate in a conversation that encourages your child to explain his/her learning, possible challenges, and how they feel about the progress they have made so far this school year.
Please understand that placements for 2023-2024 will not be discussed at this time. This includes ALPS placement, middle school placement, including Advanced Math and Academic Resource. For more information about your questions, please see the Advanced Programming Link.

MARCH FOCUS: TRUSTWORTHY! HABIT 6: SYNERGIZE!
What this means: Working together is better. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
“I get along well with other people and work well in groups.”
“I value the strengths of others and allow myself to learn from them.”
“I know that working together as a team we can get more done and come up with better solutions than we could alone.”
“I seek out other people’s ideas to solve problems.”
How can I do this in my life?
With your children, choose a problem you may have (like curfew or completing tasks). Use the Synergy Action Plan to summarize your child's solution and your solution: (1) define the problem, (2) share your views, (3) think of solutions, (4) choose the best solution together. See if you can reach a better solution (The High Way) than either of you could come up with alone.
Great Books for Habit #6- Synergize
Saturdays and Teacakes by Lester Laminack
Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathman
Swimmy by Leo Lionni
