Glenwood Elementary Hosts 5th Grade Manners Feast on May 31
Glenwood Elementary 5th Grade Manners Feast was held on May 31, 2019. Lunch was prepared by CVUSD Child Nutrition Services to honor the Glenwood 5th graders in the culminating activity for the manners class. This day was made possible by volunteers, including retired Banyan Elementary teacher Mrs. Kellogg, who taught the course on manners to 5th grade students over the course of three months. This is Glenwood Elementary's 10th year of implementing this fun program on social etiquette. Read more

Conejo Elementary and OCLM Celebrate Leadership Day
Community members were invited for a student-led day about Conejo Elementary School and Open Classroom Leadership Magnet (OCLM) and the programs offered for Leadership Day on Friday, May 24. The theme this year was "Surfing with the Habits." Leadership Day is a special opportunity for Conejo Elementary School to open their doors to the community to show off the great things that are happening! Through implementing “The Leader in Me” process, they have built a unique environment where the principles, practices, and habits of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®” are embedded into the school’s culture. Project 2 INSPIRE Parent and Community Education Program Graduation
Project 2Inspire's very first English Learner parent graduation took place on May 2nd at CVUSD's University campus.
The celebration included the recognition of CVUSD's cohorts which are comprised by DELAC (District English Learner Advisory Committee) representatives, and Banyan and Madrona parents who completed the 12 module course this year. Read more

At their meeting on April 23, 2019, the Board of Education of the Conejo Valley Unified School District proclaimed the week of May 6 – 10, 2019, as National Teacher Appreciation Week as a means of expressing appreciation to the state’s teachers, instructors, professors and other educators. We the People Civic Engagement Program for 5th Graders
Christian Gomez from Westlake High School Wins Young Investors Society Competition
Four local high schools—Agoura, Westlake, Thousand Oaks, and Simi Valley High School—competed for the title of “California State Stock Pitch Competition Champion” on April 27, 2019, hosted by Young Investors Society (YIS) at California Lutheran University. A “stock pitch” is a summary of an investment idea or opportunity. Read more
Cypress Elementary Unveils New MakerSpace at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Last year, a few Cypress Elementary School parents and teachers gathered together to pen a grant and fund a space where students and community members could come together to design and create.
Today, the MakerSpace is a reality, thanks to the Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation for their generous donation for $10,000 to create the new MakerSpace, a collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools. Read more
CVUSD Board of Education Announces Dr. Isaac Huang as New Principal of Madroña Elementary School
Dr. Isaac Huang will assume the position of principal at Madroña Elementary School starting on July 1, 2019. The official announcement was made at the District Board of Education Meeting on May 7. Dr. Huang has extensive experience both as a teacher and as an assistant principal over the past 17 years. Read more
