Principal's Update

Hello Hilton Families,

I hope you and your family are doing well.

November Calendar Dates - There have been changes. Here are the facts.

No School - Wednesday, 11/25 or Monday 11/30, virtual or in-person.

We are face-to-face all next week! Tuesday-Friday, December 1st-4th. No virtual that week.

The new trimester begins on Tuesday, December 1st.

Keeping it Safe at Hilton

The Hilton staff want to thank you for taking the necessary steps to keep your children and family healthy and safe. Our staff is also taking precautions and following CDC protocols, during and after the school day, to support the cause. Your effort helps protect everyone at Hilton!

You can help us keep Hilton safe by doing the following:

-Keep students with pending COVID-19 tests at home until test results are available.

-Keep students home if a member of the household, or a close contact, has been COVID tested and is waiting on pending test results.

-Students sent home with possible COVID-19 symptoms, or students reported as having a test pending, are still required to submit a physician's note or negative test result prior to return to school.

We have experienced some situations as a result of students coming to school when someone in the house is symptomatic and subsequently confirmed as COVID 19 positive. PLEASE err on the side of caution if you find yourself in this situation.

Never hesitate to contact our medical assistant, Reena Feiertag if you have questions. You can email her at feiertagr@brightonk12.com.

While our holidays are going to be a little unusual, I want to wish you and your family the best and hope you have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Take care,

Jeff Eisele

Counselor's Corner

Hello from your Elementary Counselor, Mrs. Fox! With October being Anti-Bullying Awareness Month, we spoke with students about how to use our voice. We talked about how to support one another, how to stand up respectfully, and most importantly, how to do it in a way that makes everyone feel comfortable. Our theme of “Do Something” is carrying into our months of November and December: GENEROSITY AND ACTS OF KINDNESS. If we can create a culture of kindness in our classrooms, our little learners are more likely to take risks, celebrate their individuality, and grow as people. To deepen this learning, create opportunities at home for spreading kindness and being generous. We know that in order to create a habit, we must create opportunities for repetition.

Lets Connect: If you are noticing some behaviors that are interfering with your child’s success in the classroom, please feel free to complete my parent referral form and we can work together to determine if supports are needed at school.

More Resources: We also have our BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home!

Policy Changes - Please Read

For the 20/21 school year, Hilton has some new policy changes due to COVID:

EXTRA CHANGE OF CLOTHING

With the current COVID restrictions, we are not able to offer a change of clothes if your child has an accident, or stumbles in a mud puddle, or gets a nose bleed, or has a mishap in the cafeteria...therefore, it would be helpful if you kept a change of clothing in your student's backpack. If your student does not have spare clothes, we will be calling home to have you bring a change of clothing. Thanks for your assistance with this.

OUTSIDE LUNCHES FOR STUDENTS

Due to COVID, we are unable to accept fast food lunches/restaurant lunches to be dropped off for students.
