The Principal’s Nest
March 8th, 2020
Start your day with hand washing/ Sanitation
School Guidelines:
Hand Sanitizer available for front desk for visitors (use what you have on hand and we will provide for further needs in facility services).
Signage posted in the office and school (CDC Website) are placed in front office, cafeteria, bathrooms, as well as placed on entrance doors. Teachers are at liberty to use the digital resource provided in an email to principals to print additional copies in color or black and white. ((THIS WILL BE COPIED FOR YOU)
Promote handwashing techniques for students (educate on handwashing, consistent messaging on handwashing.)
Promote items from the district on communication letters and social media posts.
Meet with staff at the school and leadership teams to review REMS and District Level Plan. (We will discuss on Wednesday VERY briefly)
Inform advisory and PTA boards of the plan of action at the school level.
Promote with weekly communication to update phone numbers for ConnectEd.
Students should not take out or collect trash during the corona virus and flu issues.
Hand Sanitizer to be utilized before and after use of laptops, chromebooks and labs.
Hand Sanitizer to be provided on buses for students.
Students should not be putting hands on cleaning cloths or buckets of water in the cafeteria.
Ensure that staff such as custodians and school nutrition are supported in the implementation of the plan
Next week the custodial team will sanitize each room on Wednesday at the time they would normally vacuum. Please work with them and be understanding that the floors will not be done in your classroom that day.
A connectEd will go out sometime this weekend or Monday about the District Plan that we will discuss in more detail on Wednesday.
Wash your hands, Wash your hands, Wash your hands, is the most important part...... and wipe down surfaces with approved wipes.

Reminder from Last Week.
Please remember a few things.
1. USE THE DISCIPLINE PLAN- https://docs.google.com/document/d/1279fAx5Zr9dERFNY9CJNs1vII8edTOaLgELEFjhWpWc/edit
The ALC Sheets (half sheets) are for time outs (Read Level 1 infractions)
Referral forms (duplicate copies) are for Level 2 infractions
You may not, at any time, assign a student to ISS all day.
2. DoJo- Teachers, we all love Dojo, however, Dojo should not be used as "calling a parent" when a student has done something in class or has a need for time out, that needs to be a phone call. We are finding that these messages are getting misunderstood, and at times, creates a "back and forth" that a phone call would settle. If you need assistance with this, speak with your Grade Chair or Administrator for your Grade Level.
3. Follow up with At-risk letters- If you sent an at risk letter, please make sure you begin to have a conference with those parents.
