Findley Flyer 2/2/23
Engage.Connect.Grow
Dear Findley Families,
The window for parents to declare candidacy for our School Governance Council is now open! During this time, individuals interested in serving a 2-year term (July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2025) will need to complete a Candidate Declaration Form which will be available on the Charter System Website. The declaration window will close on March 24, 2023. Interested parents can click here to access requirements for candidacy. Voting will take place in late March. See the SY2023 SGC Elections Guide for additional information and council resources related to SGC Elections. Findley Oaks will have two elected parent vacancies.
You can visit our SGC website for more information, access meeting dates, agendas, and more. https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/11428. This is an opportunity to ENGAGE and CONNECT with teachers, parents, and community members, and help GROW our students!
Let us know what you think about Findley Oaks and Fulton County Schools by taking our Annual Parent Perception Survey. Please complete one survey per school where you have one or more students enrolled. The survey will be open from February 13 through March 10 and will be available in English, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified), Korean, and Hindi. An email will be sent the week of February 13 with a link to complete the survey. Last year, Findley Oaks only had 30% of our parents complete the survey. Let's increase the percentage this year!
Thank you,
Camille Christopher

Parent/Visitor Dining Reminders
Parents are welcome to eat lunch in the food court with their children during their regularly scheduled lunchtime. Calling the school for reservations is not necessary. Parents are to sign in at the front desk, showing their proper ID, then meet their child in the hallway outside the food court rather than at the classroom, and say their good-byes at the food court and not accompany the child back to the classroom.
There are designated tables for parents to eat with their child, and therefore should not sit with the class nor engage with other students during lunch. In addition, this is not a time to engage with the classroom teacher. If you need to meet with your child's teacher, please set up an appointment.
As there are many students who have a variety of allergies, please do not share any food with anyone other than your own child and please do not buy any food or drinks for children other than your own. All shared treats must go through the classroom teacher who is aware of all students’ health concerns.
In order for us to support our school nutrition program, all outside vendor food (McDonald’s, Chick-fil -A, Burger King, etc.) is strongly discouraged. Please refrain from using your cell phone while visiting during lunch. Taking photos of students is prohibited.
As we approach Valentine’s Day, it is important to ensure that all homemade candy, desserts, baked goods, or other edible items are not to be sold or distributed during school hours, and that appropriate store-bought items are delivered to the front office. Please know that taking this measure will help us maintain a safe environment for all students with allergies, etc. You can help us protect your student(s) by requesting that they not eat anything given to them by another person, anything that they have not brought from your home or anything not in its original sealed package.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping all of our students safe at school!
