NOVEMBER 11-15
IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT!!!!!
We will be ending our study about trees in a fun way! We are taking the kids to The Princess Theater to see The Lorax (it is rated PG). We are going on Thursday, November 21st. The AM class is going at 8:45 and the PM class is going at 12:45. The cost will be $4/child. That $$$ gets them into the movie and a bag of popcorn. We will be providing juice boxes for the kids (unless anyone wants to help donate some!?!?!?) You will be receiving a permission slip soon. You will need to mark if they are coming or not, and return the form with your $4. We are very excited. Special thanks to The Princess Theater for opening up for our special trip!
THANKSGIVING REMINDERS
Feast is November 22 from 9:00-10:15 FOR BOTH CLASSES!
NO PM CLASS THAT DAY!
Please remember one guest/child and no younger siblings.
Can't wait to see everyone!
OUR CURRENT STUDY IS...
TREES! TREES! TREES! This week we learned about how trees change. We compared trees to how we start as babies and grow bigger and bigger. We discussed living and non-living things. Lots of very interesting discussion!
Thanks so much to some special visitors we had this week. We love having experts come in and talk to us....which means ANYONE that happens to know more that we do about the topic!
SMALL GROUP ACTIVITIES
SHAPES, SHAPES, SHAPES: We worked more in depth with geoboards and how to make different shapes.
LETTERS, LETTERS, LETTERS: We explored with letters stamps and ink.
WHICH HAS MORE?: Worked again on comparing and contrasting different numbers of objects.
STORY RETELLING: Told and retold Henny Penny using story props.
BOOKS WE READ
Growing Trees: This story was about foresters, arborists, and nursery workers. It taught us many tree facts! It told how you can tell how old a tree is by counting the rings in the trunk.
When the Monkeys Came Back: It's about a girl named Marta who lived in a place with lots of trees. Monkeys lived there until people cut the trees down. She grew more trees so the monkeys would come back.
Trees, Trees, Trees: Very factual book about trees.
