The Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy recognizes Arkansas high school students who have studied and attained proficiency in English and one or more other languages. It is awarded by AFLTA (Arkansas Foreign Language Teachers Association) and ARKTESOL (Arkansas Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) and has been a collaborative effort between both organizations, K-12 teachers, university faculty, and members of the community. In June 2018, the Arkansas State Board of Education officially endorsed the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy.
The Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy is a certification that encourages students to pursue biliteracy, honors the skills our students attain, and can be evidence of skills that are attractive to future employers and college admissions offices.

Safety Measures
Clear Bag Policy
In an effort to provide a safer environment and improve security, El Dorado School District has implemented a Clear Bag Policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into stadiums, gymnasiums, and other athletic fields.* Prohibited items include but are not limited to purses larger than a 4.5" x 6.5” clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, grocery bags, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size.
Bags that are permitted included:
Tote bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
Small clutch bags with or without a handle or strap, no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” (approximately the size of a hand)
Bags not permitted:
Backpacks, printed plastic bags, fanny packs, purses, reusable grocery totes, mesh or straw bags, duffle bags, large totes, and camera or binocular cases.
Diaper bags are not allowed. Items normally carried in a diaper bag must be put into a clear plastic bag for venue entry.
Unaccompanied Children
Another way that ESD is making an effort to keep everyone safe at athletic events is to require that all children 6th-grade and younger be accompanied by an adult at all times. Gate supervisors will mark the hands of children who should be accompanied while at the event.
Clubs and Activities
EHS Orchestra
The EHS Orchestra went to All-Region auditions last Saturday and we had five students score high enough to make the South All-Region Orchestra. Congratulations to Ethan Faith, Ellie Jenkins, Daphny Chen, Jazmin Wong, and Scarlett Chapin!
Beta Club Door Wrapping
Our annual Beta Club door wrapping is right around the corner. Each year we collect money for a local nonprofit from the proceeds of the Christmas Door wrapping. Our goal this year is $200.00. Beta Club members will be starting to wrap doors Friday Nov 11 after school. We certainly hope everyone will participate to spread some holiday cheer and brighten up the halls of EHS.
Teachers are asked to sign up by Thursday, November 10.
