CARPOOL HOUSEKEEPING!
The tardy bell rings at 9:15 at which time our instructional day begins. Thank you for understanding that we will not be able to stay past 9:15 in the carpool lane to accommodate anyone arriving by car after the bell rings. How should you proceed when this occurs? Please park and walk your child(ren) into the front office where you will sign them in and they will receive a tardy pass. Our carpool service is a courtesy service that we are happy to provide for your convenience!
Car Safety Seats
It is important to follow the law when it comes to child safety seats! Please be sure that if your child is supposed to use a car safety seat, that he/she uses one when you are using our courtesy carpool service. Your child's safety is important to our Signal Hill Family! Please feel free to pull right into a vacant parking spot to buckle your child into his/her car seat if necessary.
All-County Chorus
**If it happens to snow on the 22nd, the make-up concert date will be Saturday, February 29th!
Fun Fact - It's a Leap Year!
What is a leap year? Leap years are years where an extra, or intercalary, day is added to the end of the shortest month, February. The intercalary day, February 29, is commonly referred to as leap day. The last one was February 29, 2016.
Leap years have 366 days instead of the usual 365 days and occur almost every four years. This year in 2020, we are in a leap year and have February 29th on our calendars!
in·ter·ca·lar·y
/inˈtərkəlerē,ˌin(t)ərˈkalərē/
adjective
(of a day or a month) inserted in the calendar to harmonize it with the solar year, e.g., February 29 in leap years.
This week we will focus on... HABIT #7 Sharpen the Saw
What does that mean?
Sharpen the saw mean taking care of your body, brain, heart, and soul.
Have you ever been on an airplane? Did you notice when the flight attendants go over the safety instructions, they always say "WEAR YOUR MASK BEFORE HELPING OTHERS".
Or do you run out of gas in your car because you forget to pump your tank? Hopefully the answer is "NO" because you make sure the car is up and running.
Same concept applies to us. You can't help someone else unless you are in good spirit. This applies to all human beings (whether we are kids or adults). We are trying to create leaders who are capable of helping everyone around them but they also need to learn to take care of themselves.
We want these habits to be part of our lives. Not just in school but also out there in the community. Best Leaders starts with you !!!
We need your Help to make this event a successful one!!!
We need parent volunteers!!! Please click on the link below to sign up. If you have any questions, please email wickrans@pwcs.edu (Nimeshi Wickramatillake).
