2nd Years:
Beneath The Surface is off to a great start! The First Session of The Academy Model United Nations held its first meeting Friday, and it was downright parliamentary! Learners have been busy this week, learning aspects of Robert’s Rules of Order, and the ins and outs of parliamentary procedure. Learners will be taking on the role of delegate and representative of their countries are expected to collaborate, make, debate and pass policy in the interest of their countrymen, while solving the question of the downed satellite. The first meeting consisted of the delegate’s opening speeches, as well as setting the agenda topic for next committee meeting. The second year facilitators have been impressed with how seriously the learners have taken their charge, and look forward to the resolutions that the delegates will write, caucus, and eventually pass.
Cryptography has been a popular topic of discussion, as codes continue to roll out to the second years. The difficulty is going to keep increasing, as will the importance of the messages. Will they be able to match crypto-wits with the infamous Sigma?
Schedule for the Early Release Days
An exciting tradition continues on Thursday, December 14th, at 6:30pm with our class of 2019 Ring Ceremony! The Ring Ceremony offers our learners a memorable evening of this special milestone. Parents will have an active role in this event as you or a mentor will be invited to present your child with the senior ring on stage. Additionally, we will share an inspirational message from you while on stage with your child. The message will be captured in our invitation RSVPs with the link below. Jostens team representatives will bring the rings you ordered to our ceremony. If you did not order a ring, we will have a ring box for you in which you may place a ring you’ve purchased from another source or a family heirloom ring if you choose. We will have a reception after the event with an opportunity to take pictures and celebrate with other Titans, too!
6:00 pm Arrival: Learners line up for the entry procession and parents who are bringing a ring to the ceremony give the ring to Jostens to be placed in a box.
