The Atlantic Ocean borders South Africa to the west, and the Indian Ocean borders South Africa to the east. The Atlantic, on average, is more salty than any other ocean.

Act of Apartheid

Apartheid was a system of racial segregation enacted by the National Party Government. Blacks were provided services inferior to those of the whites. These rules were assembled and enacted in the 1930s. Apartheid, however, does not exist anymore.

South African President of 1994

Nelson Mandela was the president of South Africa in 1994-1999. He advocated rights for the blacks, persisted, thrown in jail, persisted, and finally became president. His significance was great, he was the first black president of South Africa, and he helped end apartheid.

  • education is poor
  • areas are crowded
  • many diseases
