Who are we?
The Oceanside Professional Learning Center is your local, NYS Teacher Center. We are grant funded, and one of the original Teacher Centers dating back over 40 years. Each month, a representative from your building attends a Staff Development Policy Board Meeting to discuss and learn about all of the Professional Learning Initiatives in Oceanside. They will share these newsletters with you, as well as provide a brief informational chat at your monthly faculty meetings.
In addition to your teacher reps, these meetings are attended by District Leadership, and reps from the Board of Education, Higher Education Parents, Private Industry, and of course, the OFT. A list of the 2023 - 2024 Representatives can be found here. This is a very important position, and representatives interface with decision makers on all levels.
You can access the most current information on the OPLC tab of the District Homepage.
Our office is located in W24 at the Oceanside Professional Learning Complex at School 6.

Participants will leave with a basic understanding of how to operate a cricut , lesson plans to encourage movement, critical thinking, and wonder in your classrooms, and dynamic visuals l that can be immediately incorporated into your lessons. This PD will help you enhance your content and inspire your students.
