Cougar Pride News

Conway Elementary School - October 23, 2023

Hello Cougar Families!

We have enjoyed having our Teacher Education students with us over the last couple of weeks. They have been a tremendous help to our teachers and we love partnering with the MWV Career Tech Center at Kennett High School to have these students join us each year. Ivy Zipf has enjoyed CES so much that she also does an ELO (Extended Learning Opportunity) for high school credit with Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Scolaro. We love seeing the next generation of teachers working in our building!

We have lots going on here at CES, so check out the details below. If you are interested in joining PTO, or just coming to hear what events they are planning, you can join us on Monday, 10/16 at 4:00 in our library. We could really use more parent participation on our PTO!

We will have our Halloween Parade on Tuesday, October 31 @ 1:45. Students will change into their costumes at school (please do not send them in their costume). Please do not send in costumes that include blood/gore, weapons of any kind or make up.

Every School Day Counts

It is so important that students are here every day because every school day counts. Students are much more successful academically when they are in school on a consistent basis, but they are also more successful socially as it takes time to build strong relationships with their teacher and peers.

School hours are 9:00AM - 3:15PM. If your child is going to be absent, please be sure to call the main office, prior to 9:00AM to let us know. The number is 603-447-3369.

As long as your child is healthy, please encourage showing up to class when school is in session. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect to peers and their teachers.

K-3 Library

We are reading books nominated for the NH Ladybug Book Awards. After reading each book, students are creating a journal page to answer a question and also to rate the book. Students will vote after the nominated books have been read to select their top choice and we will submit our CES top Ladybug Book to the NH State Library to be included in the state-wide voting. Grades 1-3 are also discussing "just right" books - books that are interesting to the student and with words and content that are at the "just right" level for that student.
